Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I setup my board?

See our setup instructions page here: https://livemetromaps.com/pages/setup-instructions

What does the board display?

On our NYC Subway Board, every LED represents a track in a station. Each LED will light either when a train is currently at that track in the station, or when it's the next scheduled stop on an active trip. If two or more trains both have the same next scheduled stop and track, a random train will be displayed.

What data do you use?

Our data comes directly from the MTA's live data feeds which can be accessed here:

MTA Developer Resources

Will live service changes be displayed?

Yes - this is one of the features of our board! Any active trip in the MTAs feeds - including trips with mid-journey re-routes and changes will be displayed!

How do I switch between modes?

To switch between normal and legacy colors, press the "mode" button on the lower left side of your board. To switch between live and pre-recorded data, press and hold the "mode" button for 3 or more seconds.

Note it can take a few seconds after the button is pressed for the board to switch between the live and pre-recorded data feeds.

Can I adjust brightness?

Yes - the boards come with "Brightness+" and "Brightness-" buttons in the lower left corner.

Can the aluminum back-panel be removed?

Yes - the back-panel can easily be removed by unscrewing the nuts securing it to the board - the aluminum back-panel is there to provide extra support for the oversized display but is not necessary for it's functionality.
